A Look Into Australia’s Past; Queensland Art Gallery

Queensland Art Gallery Exhibition

I feel no city visit is complete without getting an appreciation of the country’s history and culture. Of course an easy way to get some cultural insight is to visit a museum or local art exhibition. This is exactly what I did when I made a stop to the Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art in the cultural precinct on Brisbane’s South Bank. Unfortunately, I did not have time to see everything in one visit but it was an interesting experience.

At the time there were several indigenous Australian art exhibitions on display. This provided some insight into the country’s history and indigenous peoples (the Aborigines). And as a first time visitor to Australia, I got a quick history lesson into the struggles of the Aborigines.

Some exhibitions gave an insight into the struggles of indigenous first peoples of Australia experience was well worth with. Without giving away too much take a peek of what was on display.
