How To Make The Most Of A Day Trip To Sydney.

Sydney day trip

Sydney is arguably one of the most popular destinations and I’m sure the city is on many a bucket list. I wrote previously on my thoughts about Sydney which you can read here. Though I spent a few days there, I think a layover or weekend trip can be ideal for those of us who may not be able to spend multiple days sightseeing.

I love that the city is well organized around the various harbours and how these harbours are attractions in themselves. Why not make use of all that water, right!

From bay hopping, to picnics overlooking the ocean at North Head, to just dreamy walks while gazing at the water and the city in the distance. Sydney to me is the perfect marriage of city life and laid back beach life. This is what I got up to on one lazy Saturday…..

One day in Sydney!

Starting at circular quay  get a ferry to Watson’s Bay. The ride can be choppy but the views are beautiful and well worth the motion sickness (and salty hair afterwards).

Have a seafood lunch at Doyle’s, the restaurant is laid back but very popular. On the Saturday I visited the lines were long but the service was quick and the atmosphere was buzzing.

Hike to north head and enjoy the never-ending views of the ocean. There is something incredibly mind numbing about sitting at the tip of Australia.

Be adventurous and attempt the climb at the Light house. Don’t forget to take a peek at the lovers taking photos of each other at the Lady Bay Beach. Enjoy the photos and I hope I captured the true beauty.  lady bay beach sydney
